It is at Noto, on the cliffs and beaches of this slice of land in the most southern area of Italy; this is the new personal challange of Antonio Moretti. Fascinated by the Val di Noto when he holidayed there in the late 90’s, amirable example of restoration in late barocce the most imposing ever realized on the island after the earthquake in 1693, He decide this would be the perfect place for a new initiative tied to the land and one of its most authentic fruits: wine. In 2000 they began the first acquisitions , and “tumulo” after “tumulo” (an ancient Sicilian unit of measurement equal to 1744 meters squared) they piece together, bit by bit, more than fifty properties. In the shadow of the Cathedral of Noto, Antonio Moretti and his daughter Monica began to impose the fascinating and rigorous work to retrace the past. This was the beginning of one of Sicily’s most interesting projects with Maccari at the heart.
